Asif Faiz

Senior Advisor - Transportation Sector Management,
Dr. Asif Faiz is a former World Bank Highways Adviser and Infrastructure Sector Manager His professional experience of some 50 years ( from 1975-2008 at the World Bank) in the areas of international development, transportation, and environment, covers policy and operational work in over 45 countries in all five continents.

He currently works as a Consultant Adviser to the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and other international organizations. He served as an Honorary Professor at the National University of Science and Technology in Pakistan from 1972-1974. He is a fellow of ASCE and Institution of Engineers (Pakistan), and a Member Emeritus of TRB.

With a Ph.D in transportation engineering from Purdue University, he has authored four books and over 65 peer-reviewed papers. He is recipient of honors and awards from ASCE, US Transportation Board, IRF, the State of Rio de Janeiro, the Department of Roads,(Nepal) Purdue University and the World Bank for his technical contributions and professional activities.

His association with IRF begins in 1987, when he helped initiate the development of its Executive Training Programs, starting with Road Maintenance Management, and Roads and Environment. He is currently involved in IRF's executive program on performance based contracting for roads.
